  1. cool never knew that about the transmission fluid and why it was dyed thanks gave a thumbs up.

  2. Thanks. This was most helpful!

  3. Thanks for this and all of your videos.  They've helped me out greatly.  Had a question about Power Steering pumps.  From what I'm learning, to rebuild one really is all about changing "o" rings?  Is this true? Do you have a video on changing Power Steering pump or rebuilding one for Jeep Liberty 02-07?  Thank you in advance.

  7. It should say on the power steering cap, if not your local parts store should be able to look in up for you.

  8. What type of power steering fluid could I use for my 2003 Ford Explorer? I was checking the manual for the type of fluid, but unlucky it seems the company have discontinued it.

    thank you very much sir..

  11. @abe76090 Is sounds as though the rack may have gone bad. You could try to add fluid to it if it's dry, but you may want to have it checked.

  12. @mrjost55 Only use ATF in a pinch. I recommend staying with Power Steering Fluid.

  13. Dang, I could've saved some money by just using ATF. But instead I bought PSF that was more expensive…

  14. @ncrdisabled Yes, The power steering system is much simpler than an Auto transmission so any formulation will work and will not damage the power steering system. Use more caution on a Honda though. They have special formulations on their trans and steering fluid. If your system is leaking you should fix it to avoid spilling out fluid.

There are different types of transmission fluids can any of these type be used in a pinch as power steering fluid?
